The Italian Governament has approved and issued the Quota’s Decree for 2018 (Decreto Flussi – DPMC December 15th, 2017), effective as of January 16th, 2018. The number of Non-EU Nationals admitted in Italy for work reasons in 2018 is 30.850 (same as of 2017).
The Decreto Flussi establishes how many Non- EU nationals can be localized in Italy. The total number of citizens is subject to specific restrictions based on the job categories, Country of origin and local destination area in Italy.
Application forms will be available on https://nullaostalavoro.dlci.interno.it starting from January 18th and January 24th.
The 30.850 quotas are subdivided as follows:
New Entries
– 18.000 quotas seasonal Work. Limited to:
> agriculture, hospitality and tourism industry
> foreign citizens from: Albania, Algeria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, South Korea, Ivory Coast, Egypt, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Philippines, Gambia, Ghana, Japan, India, Kosovo, Mali, Morocco, Mauritius, Moldova, Montenegro, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Ukraine, Tunisia
– 500 quotas for subordinate work (applicable to foreign nationals resident abroad who have completed an educational/training program in their home country)
– 100 quotas as employee/self-employee. Reserved to foreign nationals who have Italian ancestry and reside in Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela or Brazil
– 2,400 quotas for self-employment:
> entrepreneurs intending to invest in Italian economy
> freelancers/independent contractors
> holders of corporate offices or administrative/controlling positions in an Italian company
> foreign citizens who invest in innovative start-up companies
internationally well-known and highest repute artists
Permit of Stay Conversion (it is allowed the conversion of the Permit of Stay issued for one of the following categories in a subordinate work PS)
– 4750 quotas for conversions of seasonal Permit of Stay
– 3500 quotas for conversion of Permit of Stay issued for study, internship and/or vocational training
– 800 quotas for holders of a long-term EU residence permit issued by an EU Member State
Permit of Stay Conversion (it is allowed the conversion of the Permit of Stay issued for one of the following categories in a self-employment PS)
– 700 quotas for conversion of study, internship and/or vocational training
– 100 quotas for holders of a long-term EU residence permit issued by an EU Member State
International Assignment Work Permit based on art 27 – ICT work Permit and EU Blue Card procedures are not subject to the quota.
