20 Oct | The public transport system in Rome
Rome is served by an integrated public transport system operated by Atac, Cotral and FS. The system consists of a subways, busses, trams and metropolitan railways.
In the central area of Rome, there are six main exchange stations (Flaminio, Trastevere, Ostiense, Tuscolana, Termini and Tiburtina), operated by FS and Cotral, and integrated with subway, bus and tram services.
Tickets can be purchased directly at the ticket offices located on track 22 of Termini Station, or the Fiumicino Airport Station entrance.
The Metrebus integrated ticket (cost 1,50€) offers the freedom to use all public transport in the territory of the City of Rome, with the exclusion of the special non-stop Termini connection – Fiumicino Airport (cost 15,00€).
Tickets must be purchased prior to the trip at any metro station, authorized retail outlets and automatic machines.
TICKETS
BIT (1.50€) valid for 100 minutes from the moment the ticket is stamped. On the subway it is valid for a single ride, also on multiple lines, without exiting the turnstiles.
ROMA 24H (7,00€) valid for 24 hours from the moment the ticket is stamped, for an unlimited number of trips within the Rome Capital territory.
ROMA 48H (12,50€) valid for 48 hours from the moment the ticket is stamped, for an unlimited number of trips within the Rome Capital territory.
ROMA 72H (18,00€) valid for 72 hours from the moment the ticket is stamped, for an unlimited number of trips within the Rome Capital territory.
CIS (24,00€) valid for 7 days from the date in which the ticket is stamped, until midnight of the seventh day, for an unlimited number of trips within the Rome Capital territory.
SUBSCRIPTIONS PASSES
MONTHLY PERSONAL (35,00€) valid for the calendar month on the subscription or on the receipt of recharge, for an unlimited number of trips within the Rome Capital territory.
MONTHLY IMPERSONAL (53,00€) valid for the calendar month shown on the receipt of recharge, for an unlimited number of trips within the Rome Capital territory. The impersonal subscription is transferable and can be used alternately by different people.
ANNUAL ROMA (250,00€) valid for 365 days from the date of recharge on the receipt.
